Codi is certified in personal training, dance instructing, life coaching, crisis intervention and as a mental health emergency first responder. Codi is grateful to have received practical, hands-on education throughout her 16 year professional coaching journey. She also studies weekly, continuing her education from an interdisciplinary variety of reliable sources.

Codi specializes in helping people build proper body mechanics and physical literacy, contributing toward increased functionality, strength and longevity in their fitness journey. Codi’s training style focuses on building strength through progressing fundamental movement patterns, using compound exercises.

Moreover, Codi’s love for encouraging physical fitness is rooted in her passion for mental health and trauma recovery. Codi’s goal for her clients is that among the “gains” that they find through strength training, they find a strong sense of empowerment and increased inner resilience.

Codi's experience and training in Trauma Informed Care, Crisis Intervention, Addiction Recovery mentorship, and other mental health related field became a gateway for her to provide empowering support for vulnerable and recovering persons. Codi has experience teaching exercise for children, adults, varied needs populations and as a healing modality for PTSD/CPTSD, anxiety, depression, etc.

The first 6 years of her coaching experience, she was strictly focused on the development of young athletes. She also coached youth swimming for 12 years and masters swimming for 8 years, both as a team head coach and a private instructor.

Currently, Codi's roles include providing personal training to clients in a private gym, providing instruction for several group fitness and dance classes, teaching group fitness and undergrad P.E. at Caltech and serving other clients through online programming.

Codi has a gymnastics, swimming and running background. She has been training since she was 4 years old and began seriously focusing on her weightlifting journey in 2008. She is currently focused on her strength and dance training.

Codi also has experience with adapting and overcoming injuries, including several traumatic brain injuries, 8 herniated back and neck discs, scoliosis, and other shoulder, knee, ankle and foot issues, most of which were from gymnastics, then work in the juvenile detention center and as a police officer and then two car accidents. She has helped many of her clients in overcoming their own adversity and pain, allowing them to lead more active lives.

Codi's Favorite Things to Say in Class:

-You do not need to be stronger to start.

You need to be willing to meet yourself where you're at,

apply consistent effort to do 1% better every time.

-Quality & consistency go so much further than

you may be able to see in the moment.

-Remember transformation is a journey. Success takes time.

-If you make small things a habit, they will help you achieve the big picture.

Codi's Favorite Quotes:
